ParticipantOkay thanks for the link! That helps out quite a bit

ParticipantYeah, I am about to drop $2k for a secured card.
I just feel their whole goal is to sell investments. And their online banking just feels that way and sucks.
I’ve got a great history with US Bank and their web layout is simple and lots of options/details/reports.
But I’ve been hearing things about BoA closing people’s accounts without notice and charging $60-90 in “research fees”.
I do know they are a bank and many people use them. Just seems sketchy to me. But my company uses them for payroll.

ParticipantNo worries. I’ve been very sick.
Anywho…
It doesn’t say charge off. Just past due ” >180 days ”
Balance past due is the $1080
And when it shows your total credit line (for that account) it says $15k and $12k of that credit line is used (about the amount of the car loan left, plus repo fees).
I guess I’ll try to dispute it (maybe they don’t answer and it’s an instant off) and if they hit me back, I’ll try to work numbers with them.
It’s just odd it’s an active account and still at a high balance.

ParticipantI recently opened my account with BoA. Needed a $25 deposit in both checking and savings.
I saw the $25 pending from my bank but it never went through. Then it vanished (as if canceled payment). So my BoA account says $0 in both accounts. Saturday I got a letter for the pin number for the card.
Needless to say I’m hesitant to throw money in there. Seems like their whole goal is selling investment accounts. Or other products.

ParticipantHmm well that 30% damper sure does put a damper on things!!
I guess just to toss up a different balance each month with it, I’ll use it for a new bill each month. I think my highest bill alone is $200 with the electric bill. Other than rent/car payment.
As for the BOA card.. I suppose I could toss $3k into that account to give me a better 30-40% buffer zone.
Paying off the cards each month is not hard as long as the balances are $2500 or less (what I normaly spend each month on food/gas/bills). Just that dang 30% mark. At least the BOA will consider giving back a despost and moving me up in the world to an unsecured card.
I’ll check out the credit report link you posted.. I do need to get setup in a program to check it now that I am out to improve the finer things in life.
Anywho, thanks for the reply! This is quite fun but at the same time a PITA with the whole credit world. But only way to buy a home these days….
Thanks Again!
