i’ve had limited credit befor and trashed it. medical bills, and that little alcohol drug thingy. was compleatly uncareing about paying anything, bills went in the trash and i went to the bar. Eight years later, in August 2011 i applied for Cap one secured card, now sober quite a while, figured i desearve to rehab credit, hell I rehabbed me,anyways shortly after I was offered a nonsecured card by credit one for $300 and took it. At this point I found just checkin with Sprint was a hard hit on report, thats 3. hell i already have Tmobile, not sure why i did that, so for now i am done applying for anything. I can always add money to my secured Cap one card, keep ’em paid off and sit back and wait maybe 2 years, maybe open a savings acct. with Cap one, on my mobile i could it all on same site. For now i shall be paitent.
Hi chgodave, welcome to the forums.
First of all, congratulations on being sober, it takes guts!
About your card. It’s great that you were able to qualify for an unsecured card after having your capital one for just a couple of months. I’ve had mine for 9 months and still haven’t tried applying for other cards yet (I’m trying to clean up my report first).
I don’t think you should worry about those 3 hard inquiries. I’ve read that having between 2-4 is ok.
Have you seen any improvement in your credit score since you have the two credit cards?
hi, thanks, too early to tell, the unsecured credit one card has a free experion score and snapshot report, they say it takes about a month. i will know then. meanwhile i’m paying them off each month as if it were money from a savings account. its not credit if im maxed out.
