I’m happy to report that after only two months of having this line of credit, my limit was automatically increased from $500 to $800. I didn’t request an increase but logged in to my account today and noticed my new credit limit.
I use PayPal a lot and have been using PayPal Smart Connect quit a bit and then paying in full so I can use it again. I guess they noticed I could use a bit more credit. I will ask for a credit line increase in two months, after my 4th statement, as some people have suggested this is a good time to ask for one.
I had originally applied for Paypal’s Mastercard but was approved for PayPal Smart Connect instead. Not what I originally wanted but so far so good…hopefully they can upgrade me to their Mastercard in the future (though I’m not sure if this is even possible).August 4, 2012 at 12:43 am #2997
That is awesome! I applied for that same card a few months back because I too use paypal a lot and it is offered by the same company as my other card which is in good standing with no missed payments. Unfortunately I was denied and didn’t even get the smart connect. I am glad it went well for you though and good luck in the next couple of months.August 5, 2012 at 8:54 pm #2998
Thanks Christie! I’m sorry to hear you were denied. I’m sure it’ll be easier for you once you take care of those collections you mentioned. It definitely helped me a lot, though it’s been years since I’ve been approved for anything!December 6, 2012 at 9:48 pm #3003
Requested a credit line increase today and was approved. They upped my limit by $500 for a total of $1300 (I actually requested $1500 but they offered $1300). This was done through their automated system, so it was easy and quick. I had requested increases twice before and was denied. I hear you can request credit limit every four months and it’s been four months since they increase my limit, so I’ll be requesting another one in April 2013. I will give you guys another update then.December 11, 2012 at 12:51 am #3004
Do they recheck your credit every time you request an increase?December 11, 2012 at 2:05 am #3005
No, they do a soft pull so any request for a limit increase doesn’t show up as an inquiry on your report. Pretty cool. Also, as I mentioned everything is done through their automated system so you don’t even have to speak to anybody.December 11, 2012 at 5:44 am #3006
Sounds cool! I’m pretty sure I will wait til after the holidays for that. I have been thinking about it, but i have been using a lot of my cards for Christmas shopping. My husband and I both have big families so it is hard to pay cash for gifts.December 13, 2012 at 10:48 pm #3007
Yeah, I hear you!
