    Hello everyone :)

I’m new here, and “new” in America. I came to America 3 years ago and of course I didn’t have credit history at all, and I didn’t know what is that ( in my country, everything is different, you can have credit card only if you work and even if you work it’s hard to get it ).. So, I didn’t know anything about credit score, credit history, and even I didn’t know English! I met some “wrong people” from my home country and they wanted to be smart, so they tried to explain to me that I need credit card, I need credit history and if I think about that what they told me, everything was wrong. So, I opened my first debit card, and I started to open credit cards ( Capital One, Macy’s, Victoria’s Secret, and many more ) and every time same answer-not approved!!! Later, I learned English ( enough to understand, write and talk ) and I started to read about credit score and I decided to apply one more time for credit card. I applied for Capital One and I was approved for Capital One Secured Credit Card, deposit was $99 and I sent them $200. I received my card on September 15th this year and they took $29 annual fee, and I started to spend money from my card. I sent them $100 more, so right now my credit limit is $300.

I didn’t have any bills on my name, so I applied for tv and Internet with AT&T and I got approved, and I put AutoPay, so I don’t need to worry about late payments.

After everything, I wanted to check my credit history and that was shock! On experian, com I found out that I have credit score 693, and I tried to open 24 times different credit cards :( I read somewhere that this is going to clean from my credit history after 2 years, and I know, I made mistake, but like I said, “wrong people”, I didn’t know English, and I was so lost in my new life.

And I tried to be “smart” one more time, I applied for Macy’s credit card one more time ( I was thinking I will be approved because my credit score is so-so ) and I got letter, not approved, reasons- so many times tried to open so many credit cards, and my credit score is 564!!!! Than surprised me a lot, because 3 weeks ago I check my credit score on Experian and it was 693, I have on one bill one my name, which I always paid on time, even earlier, I have credit card, which I paid in full.

Please, if someone knows how to get out of this- so many time tried to open credit card- and any other advice how to make my credit history better.

And I apologize for my English, I hope so everyone is going to understand what I wanted to say, because English is my second language.

Thank you all for reading and and kind of help.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I have about 8 inquiries myself. Every time i get a denial letter it always says too many inquiries. At the same time it will say not enough accounts and not enough age on accounts. How can you get one without the other? It is just one of those you cannot win for losing kind of things. I would just say keep you secured card for a good long while before trying to apply for anything else. I know it may be hard, but that secured card will still build your history while giving those inquiries time to fall off. I plan to do that whenever I get a secured card.
