Ringtones are the sounds that your phone makes to alert you when a call, text message, or email arrives. They’re a great way to personalize your device and set a distinctive tone for specific people or groups of friends.
Getting Started
First, you’ll need to download a ringtone. You can do this from a downloadable ringtone application or from the Internet (see below).
Once you’ve found the right ringtone, copy it from your computer to the corresponding folder on your Android. Do this by connecting your device to a computer with a USB cable or via Bluetooth. Then, open your folder of ringtones and tap “Paste” to add the file.
The ringing sound of an incoming phone call originated in the early telephone industry as a simple mechanical ringer to trigger a bell. The ringing was produced by detecting a voltage generated when a fixed or hand-held telephone is pressed against a conductive object.
