    I applied for the Capital One card when I first joined this forum, but was denied due to limited income. I now make a bit more money and will make even more in the next couple of months. I have been thinking about trying to apply again, but I am not quite sure. Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi Christie,

    The first time you applied was more than 6 months ago right? Have you been approved for other cards? Has your scored improved since then? Do you have a lot of credit inquiries on your report?

    It has been more than six months. I have not gotten any new cards. My score has improved about 14 points and I have about 4 inquires right now.

    I have decided to wait a few more months. In about 3 months I will be finished with college and should have a much better income. Also in waiting a few other inquiries should fall off. Therefore, I have decided to apply in August.

    I finally started my new job about two weeks ago. I am going to be making much better money so I intend to get rid of the two baddies I have on my report and then I will be applying for a secured card again. Hopefully I will be able to do this within the next two months.

    Okay So I just applied again. All it said was” thank you your application is complete. You will be notified in 7-10 business days.” I called because I thought that was strange and so I called and the man said my application was still pending and I should wait for them to contact me with the amount of my security deposit. So we will see.

    Thank you. I appreciate it. Maybe it is because of the huge income change from the last time. I am not sure, but like you i am keeping my fingers crossed.

    You must be psychic lol! I got my letter today saying I have been approved with the 49 dollar fee. I will be sending my payment tomorrow, but I wasn’t sure if I should send more. I know this card will not grow with me and I will not get my money back, but I know it will help. I don’t think a $200 limit will look that great so I was wondering if there is a reasonable amount I should send in.
